Dearest Friend:
Welcome to WidowsWearStilettos.com.
If you are yourself a widow, let us first convey our deepest
sympathies to you on the loss of your beloved. There truly are no
words to describe the pain, the grief and the loneliness that you
are feeling. We also welcome those of you who may be facing the
prospect of widowhood due to the catastrophic and / or terminal
illness of your spouse and are pleased and privileged to be of
assistance to you during this difficult time.
If you
are visiting on behalf of a loved one or friend who is widowed or
who may be facing widowhood, thank you for taking the time to visit
and more importantly, for taking the time to locate assistance and
support for your loved one. She needs and appreciates you.
While we
acknowledge and encourage the philosophy that there is a time for
bereavement, a time to grieve and that grieving is a vital part of
the healing process, we at Widows Wear Stilettos also firmly
believe in addressing “what now” and “what next”. You may find
yourself unable to answer either one of those questions right now
and it is our mission to gently guide you through this painful
period of grief, trial and transition, into a life filled with
renewed hope and promise. We are dedicated to mobilizing a largely
overlooked population of women into a network of support, education,
healing, caring, sharing and strength.
Our site name is based on the forthcoming
book by award-winning author, speaker, coach and Widows Wear
Stilettos founder Carole Brody Fleet, entitled,
“Widows Wear Stilettos: A Practical and Emotional Guide for the
Young Widow” (New Horizon Press); as well as the
popular CD, entitled, “Widows Wear Stilettos: What Now?”.
While there are many wonderful books, CD’s and websites that
deal with grief, and a few that deal with the specific plight of the
young widow “Widows Wear Stilettos…” differs
in that it offers both practical guidance and
emotional guidance for the younger widow, addressing such issues as:
Taking "ownership" of your personal "Healing
Journey"
Coping with the
comments, opinions and insights that you may encounter from those who surround
you
Fashion, beauty, diet
and exercise tips just for you, including quick and easy recipes
How
and when to re-enter the “World of Dating”…and what to do once you get there!
Advice on your
financial and “practical” transitioning; complete with how-to’s, checklists and
guidelines
Helping
children of all ages adapt and transition
and occasionally does so with a bit of a smile!. The
book even includes quizzes, journal space, affirmations, “contracts”
and other activities designed to help you actually see your recovery
“in progress”.
The CD,
entitled, “Widows Wear Stilettos: What Now?”
is a valuable healing “tool” that offers comfort and direction as
you move through the first difficult weeks and months after your
husband’s death – and also helps those who may have been widowed for
awhile, yet may feel “stuck” in their grief. Widows of all
ages will be able to utilize the important education
insights, opinions and advice offered in a compassionate and
contemporary fashion.
In
addition to the support and education that you will find on our
website, Widows Wear Stilettos is also pleased to offer
personal coaching programs especially designed for your specific
needs and based upon where you are in your healing journey. You may
be a brand new widow or you may have been widowed for a while; you
may have questions that no one has been able to answer for you or
that you may have even been afraid to ask. Perhaps you just need to
learn how to take control of your healing journey – and can’t quite
figure out how to do it. While never intended to treat or
diagnose physical or emotional illness or as a substitute for a
medical professional, coaching can be a wonderful tool and
asset to you as you move forward into a new phase of your life.
Widows Wear Stilettos is widely
recognized as a leader in grief and bereavement recovery / life
balance instruction and is proud to be featured on national,
regional and local television and on many radio programs throughout
the United States, Canada and Mexico; as well as in magazines and
newspapers both nationally and internationally. Widows Wear
Stilettos also appears on numerous websites throughout the world
and has been translated into several different languages; helping to
facilitate education, healing and support to the widowed all over
the world.
